PHOTOGRAPHER: Idoia Lopez
I was born in Bilbao, Spain in 1972. I grew up in Basauri, a fairly small town on the outskirts of Bilbao, the capital of Bizkaia. All my life I was surrounded by supporting family and friends, and most of all by the BASQUE culture, which I still keep close to my heart. My family and I moved to the United States when I was 15. The differences in culture, and traditions were shocking for a 15 year old, but I found them fascinating at the same time. As an adult I have learned that I am lucky to have both worlds with me...and I hope this website reflects somewhat who I am....a proud BASQUE-AMERICAN, trying to share my world with you.
Currently living in Naples, Florida, I have been lucky enough to have a chance to travel a little. I tend to get drawn mainly by architecture, but nature always has a soft spot for me as well. I hope you enjoy viewing my photographs as much as I enjoy taking them.
All the photographs in this website were taken with a 35mm camera, using different lenses, and exposure times to capture the images seen.
